Lorraine Bonaventura Architect is a Winner for this project in the 2017 Remodelista Design Awards and the 2014 New York Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards. This project is also featured on the cover of the design book:

This row house for a busy family in Cobble Hill underwent a complete transformation over two years. Every system and surface was replaced, the structure stabilized and reinforced. The house was altered from a four family to a two family residence, a triplex with two terraces and a two bedroom apartment below. The clients are both designers and participated in design decisions throughout the process. Wherever possible, we used original  materials: flooring, stair balusters and newel posts, supplementing them with vintage fixtures and antique mantels. These vintage materials contrast with an open, clean and modern space.

1850's house was completely restored after being taken down to the brick, all new systems.

Mantels were restored, plaster work recast, herringbone floors meticulously  restored and replaced, new limestone and antique french oak floors added to kitchen and dining level. Every surface was completely redone, rebuilt or restored. Radiant heating, air conditioning was added, brick work repointed, new sand cast iron exterior railings, brownstone facade replaced, new weight and chain mahogany windows with antique glass, all wood moldings replaced to replicate original moldings, original window shutters restored. Kitchen cabinetry by Crown Point Cabinetry, other millwork: custom.
